Our nation's first woman to serve as Secretary of State, Madeline Albright, came to Indianapolis and Bloomington to speak on behalf of the Obama-Biden campaign today, and my videographer Karen Sensney and I were able to capture the event for Bloosiers and Blue Indiana.
The speech was fantastic and was far more laid back and humorous than I expected from a lady who has served as an inspirational… Continue

Sixth District United States Congressional Candidate Barry Welsh is scheduled to appear before the Delaware County Election Board this Tuesday afternoon. Welsh appeared before the same board in April at the request of Ball State University students who were concerned that voter registrations would not be processed. Stephanie DeKemper is a dynamic and hard working candidate for Indiana House in District 92 who has a real chance of flipping her currently red district represented by the atrocious Phil Hinkle to a blue district as part of the bluenami that will sweep Indiana this November. The Obama Effect is most prevalent in districts with high independent voter counts and where new voter registration efforts have had a large impact such as in District 92.
(This playlist includes videos featuring Nels Ackerson, Mary Etta Ruley, John Barnes, Stephanie DeKemper and Ken Kern)
The HobNob candidate gathering held every year in an election year was last night at the Indiana State Museum and my videographer Karen Sensney and I were there to capture as many candidates as we could on video and photo. We were able to catch up with 5 candidates on video including (in order of appearance) Congressional candidates… Continue

“One has to question if the cancellation implies that not only is Mike Pence not the future of this district, or this state, he is no longer considered the future of his party. The fact that the convention is now ignoring The State of Indiana also might imply that The Republicans are conceding Indiana to the Democratic Party, or at the least Republicans are taking Indiana for granted and that is not a wise thing to do.” Continue

Too phunny to not post here. It's a total ripoff of the will.i.am Yes We Can video, but this really puts it out there for folks on just what McCain's policies really are and how atrocious of a leader he would be.
Big thanks to Arnie from the comments here who emailed this to me. Continue

Against Me! "White People For Peace (Butch Vig Mix)"
Welcome to the first installment of what will be a weekly playlist and video selection from my new music blog Dissonance. This week I have selected a small variety of tunes which I have played over the years in my work as a nightclub DJ, or that
Super Tuesday is for political junkies like me what the Super Bowl is for football fans. I've read about folks planning gatherings to watch the returns this Tuesday like they do for general election nights, have you got some friends you are gonna watch returns with? Would anyone be interested in a liveblog event for Tuesday night? Leave comments below and let everyone know how you're gonna spend Super Tuesday. Continue
Courtesy of fellow Bloosier John Good, I now know I am only 52% likely to eat my friends if trapped and starving. I guess I am finicky about my choices in charred mammal flesh. Anywho, click here to take the test for yourself.
*DISCLAIMER: For all I know this may be some secret cannibal monitoring program from a Federal agency, if you are indeed a human flesh eater, or intend to become one someday… Continue

As a former DJ and music fan in general I like to create playlists to share with people and have had a lot of fun for several months now using Project Playlist to create playlists from songs found using their music search service. However, I have been frustrated with the glitchy interface and disorganized site. Well fear not, fellow Bloosiers, I found a new service which looks very promising as a possible replacement for Project Playlist. It combines gene… Continue

I realize how corny that sounds, but seriously, let's be friends on here! Adding me and your fellow Bloosiers as a friend allows you to get to know your neighbors and share thoughts and ideas directly with one another. And while you're at it, be sure to join your local Congressional District's group for discussing the latest info around your district.
Welcome to the new social network for left of center, lefty and far left Hoosiers of the blue political persuasion! Bloosiers is a means by which to organize ourselves to help elect Democrats to local, state and Federal offices all across Indiana.
We've also got help from our friends at OpenCongress tracking the Indiana Delegation to Congress and feeds updating you on the latest goings on in Washington involving our Congresspersons.
Start a blog, start or join a group, share p… Continue
